Pachakuti Mesa Tradition (PMT) Offerings from Mona Rain

As a Sanctioned Teacher and Lineage Carrier in the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition (PMT) of Cross-Cultural Shamanic Arts, Curandera Mona Rain now leads three PMT Introductory Workshops, as well as the five-part PMT Apprenticeship Series. Workshops and Apprenticeship programs may be arranged to take place in South Florida, and in Cuzco, Peru.

Originated by don Oscar Miro-Quesada, an internationally respected kamasqa curandero and altomisayoq adept from Peru, PMT is a way of being in the world that embodies “indigenous practices for personal and planetary renewal.” He says, “The world of the Pachakuti Mesa carrier is not a world to know, to study, grasp or gain insight into, but a world to live in, participate in, to be a part of, to collectively fashion, make, enhance, and co-create.” The practice of PMT is gaining worldwide attention and respect.

Mona describes the three PMT Introductory Workshops as opportunities to begin experiencing the empowering PMT foundational practices, and “to learn to be present in a state of reverence for the sanctity of ancient indigenous rituals and ceremonies. Together we create a ‘vessel’ of higher vibrations that is inviting, and capable of holding, the humbled presence of the Ancestors, as well as the gifts and needs of each individual participant in our circle.”

Overall, participants will be offered rich wisdom, and will gain an understanding of the powerful applications for this shamanic work that can be applied immediately to their everyday lives.

These half-day (four hour) workshops can be offered separately, or together as a weekend workshop:

Workshop 1~ Ritual Cosmos: Introduction to the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of Shamanism

Welcome to the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition (PMT), a way of doing and being in the world that upholds both personal and planetary healing! A centerpiece of the tradition is ritual and ceremonial mastery of the Mesa as passed down through the lineage of Peruvian curanderos. The mesa is an altar-like arrangement of empowered objects that serves as a shamanic tool; it is used to engage enlightened beings and elemental energies for restoration of balance, health, and harmony between humans, other dimensions, and our natural world.

Mesas are used for healing, ceremony, journeying, manifesting, divination, transformation, and communion with the spirit realm. The mesa is both a reflection of you, and an extension of your Self. Come create a basic mesa, and begin to experience your place in the world in a whole new way!

Workshop 2~ Enchanted Ground:  Creating Sacred Spaces for Healing and Holding Council

In this workshop, we will discuss the creation and holding of sacred space for the self, as a “personal retreat,” and for others, as in group ceremony. We’ll demonstrate concepts of sacred space that are used in indigenous traditions from around the world, and share ways of deepening our relationship with the sacred landscapes of Mother Earth. We’ll also practice the council process typical of many indigenous traditions.

Our workshop is open to anyone who is interested in learning how establish an atmosphere supporting the honoring of such traditions in community, or for personal spiritual practice.

Workshop 3~ Food of the Gods:  The Despacho as Ritual Expression of Gratitude and Reciprocity

This workshop engages the community in a uniting and healing ceremony involving the creation of a despacho. Despacho is the Spanish word for a ritual offering made with reverent intention in sacred reciprocity (“Ayni”) for that which has been given to us. Despachos are most often created to honor and give thanks to Pachamama (Mother Earth) and the Apukuna (Mountain Spirits). They can also be done as offerings for good luck, marriages, births, deaths, prosperity, and new homes or jobs.

The PMT Apprenticeship Program provides a deep immersion into the profound wisdom teachings from the ancient Peruvian shamanic traditions of the North Coast, and Southern Andes. Participants in the Apprenticeship can expect to:

Receive Personal Healing as they are guided in the use of time-honored Peruvian shamanic rituals and ceremony that serve as a catalyst for healing.

Learn how to create a personal Mesa, a sacred altar for self-exploration, empowerment, and transformation.

Cultivate a relationship with the unseen world, and discover personal guide(s) who will help each student in “remembering,” while traveling a new path of expanding possibilities.

There is no prerequisite for Part 1; all subsequent classes require completion of the preceding classes, under the guidance of a PMT sanctioned teacher.
